Research-Use Policy
Effective date: August 23, 2026
1. Purpose of this policy
EJ presents a catalog of materials intended only for controlled laboratory research. This policy explains the limits that apply to every listing, document, and site feature.
Catalog materials are not for human or veterinary use. The site is not a medical, veterinary, diagnostic, therapeutic, clinical, food, drug, supplement, cosmetic, household, or personal-use service.
2. Qualified research use only
Catalog materials are intended only for qualified laboratory personnel or authorized organizations conducting lawful, nonclinical research in appropriately equipped facilities.
Access to a listing does not mean that a person or organization is qualified to acquire, possess, handle, or use the material. Researchers are responsible for confirming applicable laws, institutional approvals, training, facilities, safety controls, and product-specific documentation before any future acquisition or use.
3. Prohibited uses
Materials shown on EJ must never be:
- used in or on a human or animal;
- ingested, inhaled, injected, implanted, administered, or applied to the body;
- used to diagnose, screen, monitor, prevent, treat, cure, or mitigate any disease or condition;
- used to guide patient care, veterinary care, clinical decisions, or treatment decisions;
- used in a clinical trial or other human or veterinary investigation;
- used as or in a food, drug, dietary supplement, cosmetic, consumer product, household product, or personal-care product; or
- resold, relabeled, promoted, or represented for any prohibited use.
Do not interpret a product name, concentration, quantity, image, description, or document as a dose, administration instruction, reconstitution instruction, treatment protocol, or medical or veterinary guidance. EJ does not provide that guidance.
4. Catalog presentation is not regulatory approval
A product's appearance in the EJ catalog is informational. It does not mean that EJ or any government agency has approved, cleared, authorized, registered, certified, endorsed, or found the product safe or effective for any use.
“Research use only” is a use restriction, not a claim of regulatory approval. FDA has specific RUO labeling rules for certain in vitro diagnostic products. Those rules do not automatically define the status of every material in a broader research catalog. Product classification and legal requirements must be assessed for the specific material and intended activity.
Nothing on the site authorizes possession, import, export, transfer, sale, or use where restricted by law.
5. Labels, certificates, and source documents
The Lab Tests area may display PDFs supplied by manufacturers, laboratories, or other sources. A displayed certificate of analysis, test report, safety document, or similar file:
- is a reference document, not an independent EJ test;
- applies only to the product and lot it identifies;
- does not establish regulatory approval or suitability for a prohibited use; and
- may be incomplete, superseded, or mismatched if identifiers do not align.
Before relying on any document, verify the supplier, product identity, lot or batch number, document date or version, and any stated test method against the exact material. If information conflicts or cannot be verified, do not rely on the listing or document. Report a document concern through Contact EJ with the product name, product code, and document identifiers.
6. Researcher responsibility
Researchers must conduct their own risk review and follow applicable law, institutional rules, approved protocols, product labeling, safety data, and waste-disposal requirements. EJ does not replace an institution's environmental health and safety review, legal review, ethics review, or scientific judgment.
Do not send EJ requests for dosing, administration, reconstitution, diagnosis, treatment, or personal medical or veterinary advice. EJ will not provide that guidance.
7. Site status
The current checkout is a no-charge preview. It does not create an order, sale, reservation, shipment, or right to receive any material. See the Terms of Use for details.
8. Changes and contact
EJ may update this policy when the catalog or site changes. The effective date at the top will show the latest published version.
Questions or policy reports may be sent using the information on Contact EJ. Do not email full payment-card numbers, government identifiers, passwords, or medical or health information.
